Raussmüller is a non-commercial cultural organisation dedicated to research and communication of New Art. Headed by Urs and Christel Raussmüller, it holds a collection of key works of European and American art from the second half of the 20th century. The organisation is located in the Raussmüller Hallen in Basel which function as its central workspace.
Conceived and built by Urs Raussmüller, this unique building complex combines a pre-existing industrial warehouse with an expansive new building. With extensive experience from his previous institutions and himself an artist, Raussmüller has merged his cultural concepts and visions to create a unique location in which art can be «lived» in an all-encompassing, holistic way. Personal relationships and intense collaborations with artists over decades are reflected in an unparalleled und authentic approach to their art works. To work in and with art is the mission of the institution. The results of the organisations’ research are made available through Raussmüller Publications and Raussmüller Insights.
